Looking for Relay Team @ 45th Annual West Point NRE

Topic created by Michael-Frei on Tue Feb 25, 2025 at 4:22 pmHi, I'm Michael and i used to come to the DVOA events 20 years ago when i lived in NJ for some time. I'm now planning a visit and want to go to the 45th Annual West Point NRE during April 12-13 2025. Since there is a relay on saturday, i'm looking for two more team members. Any chance that this is going to work out through this board?
I'm 41 years old and very much looking forward to another exciting orienteering season here in Switzerland. And one awsome weekend in West Point. -

I believe there will be bunch of DVOA members at West Point event and we always can arrange something on the fly. Personally, I plan to attent event as well and if nothing comes up, I can run on relay team. -

Reply by wriley on Tue Mar 11, 2025 at 6:44 pmThanks Michael for noticing this - and reaching out - we'd love to have you on a DVOA team!I didn't not know there were hosting a relay - but just reading up on it, I see the scoring system and think DVOA could field several teams.Nominally it looks like they may want us to use EventReg to selected our team - but in pratice it's nicer if we can see who's registered from DVOA and then try to collate teams.Perhaps we should just put a few guesses together - well before the normal registration deadline at the end of this month to allow people time to register - and then negotiate possible team changes if we want to help get more people on teams.For now, I'll note that Angelica & I (4 & 2 points respectively) will also be attending, and I've started adding names to this Google sheet - feel free to add yourself if you are attending, or others you expect to attend.

Reply by wriley on Tue Mar 18, 2025 at 8:50 pmAt this point I see two gold teams, + one black team composed of our Eco friends.Check the sheet in the previous post for how I suggest you pre-register.We presumably will be able to change this later, if needed due to drop-outs or new adds, closer to the day of the race.
