Reply by Orienteer7 on Fri Nov 8, 2024 at 6:13 pmFor those coming to the event. All maps for the morning courses will be at 1:7,500 making the map much easier to read....the woods visibilty is very good. Leaf coverage makes it a bit difficult to see the rocky ground though. Weather is expected to be almost perfect.

Reply by MaryFrank on Mon Nov 11, 2024 at 7:51 amThank you Dave Morgan for Course Setting for Saturday's event! Lots of kids and lots of great compliments on the courses. Leaves down made it a little slippery in the woods but they were open! Great day to be at Warwick! Thanks too to Shawn Worthen, Bob & Pat Burton, Michael Metzger, Mark Frank and especially Sam Kolins for helping out to make the day a success! Great to see Scout Troop 98! Bob Trejo! and I got to preview the permanent course that Michael Wang is designing at Tyler. Wonderful effort!See you in the woods!Mary

Reply by RLamont1010 on Sun Nov 17, 2024 at 8:36 amI had the same question. Is there a way to know from schedule which events count towards rankings and which don’t?

Reply by alenka0000 on Mon Nov 18, 2024 at 1:04 pmWarwick does count. It will take a bit of time to get the results cleaned up for rankings because it was a JROTC event with messy incoming data. Some events leave the results coordinator (thank you, Dave!) with a lot of data cleaning. The preliminary results are up, so you do know your time and your splits, and you know if you managed to crush your personal goals and your enemies. Livelox is also up. Please be patientMid-season rankings are in flux anyway -- the scores you got for *all* your past events will keep changing based on your and your competitors' performances in all future events this year. So do your best at each event and don't focus too much on the transient number that happens to be your score on any given day!For the most part, any regular event will count towards rankings. Sprints never count, and any non-standard events (score-o, vampire-o, you name it) don't count either. If you have a question about an un-ranked (or incorrectly ranked?) event that isn't the very latest event, please do ask on the eboard!-Lena

Reply by RLamont1010 on Tue Nov 19, 2024 at 9:37 amThanks you Lena for the explanation. My son did really well at Warwick so he has been bugging me to ask about rankings. He will be happy to hear this :-) Looking forward to more upcoming events!
