Harald stayed in contact with Kent and Caroline Ringo for many years after returning to Norway. We were fortunate to have him return to the U.S. for DVOA's first national event which was the 1982 U.S. Championships (French Creek West) and he returned again in 1992 for DVOA's hosting of the 1992 U.S. Championship (French Creek East). I believe his daughter came with him in 1992 but not sure whether she was with him in 1982? He was a giant of a man but very quiet. Not sure how he was able to influence so much orienteering in such a short time in North America...but he did and we are forever grateful to him. I count myself very very fortunate to have been able to meet him and spend just a few moments around him. It was very clear to me that he was proud that his work in the Delaware Valley had taken hold and led to such an enthusiastic and vibrant club. Thank you Harald!Mark Frank
