Reply by furlong47 on Thu Aug 17, 2023 at 10:49 pmFor training, some people arrive on Friday night and some on Saturday AM. You can choose to stay right in the camp where everything will take place (Daddy Allen). There are rustic cabins available for lodging and a meal plan that provides all meals on Saturday and breakfast/lunch on Sunday. Other people choose staying in the regular family or group campground instead, or other nearby lodging and just come in for the events. I think staying in Camp Daddy Allen is great for socializing and meeting new people.Friday night is just checking in and settling in. On Saturday morning is breakfast, an introduction and breaking into groups, roughly 2 hours of training, lunch, another 2+ (depending on level and how long individuals take on each exercise) hours of training, a little free time, dinner, then the Night-O event.Sunday is a regular club event.
You can choose to do everything or just pick individual events. Some people just come in on Sunday. -
Reply by wriley on Thu Aug 31, 2023 at 8:26 pmAs Julie notes, (unheated, no linens or mattresses) cabins are available (first come, first served) - all in a large group camp, with a central club-house & eating area to socialize with others before/after/during the event. Options available from Friday evening through Monday morningAnd a simple meal plan is available too (no special diet choices.) (Want fancier options? Volunteer in the kitchen - reply to this thread...)For more information, get started on the registration form, and you'll see more details.

Reply by GlenT on Sun Sep 3, 2023 at 8:31 amJust a heads up that registration for the Training Weekend closes in less than 4 days (Thursday Sept. 7 at 8am EDT), rather than just a couple days before the event. Even if you're only coming for the regular courses on Sunday, register now.

Reply by wriley on Mon Sep 4, 2023 at 6:11 pmI've made an Event Info Page to gather information about this - especially useful for folks that are considering coming to this for their first or second time, and don't know what 'the usual' is :)
