Delaware Valley Orienteering Association

Despite the scare of bad air quality earlier in the week, we had good weather for the weekend.  There was a brief and very local downpour on Saturday (it only rained on the Sand Spring Lake map; Shades of Death got barely a sprinkle!) and it was getting a bit humid Sunday afternoon but t he event was over before it got too bad.  Thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed my favorite park!

A big thank you to the following:

- Patty Carrigan for handling registration, acting as a sounding board, helping with setup, doing both courses and then picking up a bunch of controls.

- Lena Kushleyeva for hanging all the Gould Run controls on Thursday, doing Saturday's course, picking up half of the Gould Run controls, then going back out and picking up more Gould Run controls so I wouldn't have to pick up any this week, and, of course, handling results and RouteGadget.

- Steve Aronson for hanging a loop on Sand Spring Lake on Friday, picking up an even bigger loop on Sunday and then going out and helping finish off Gould Run and then taking the kit home with him.

- Mary Frank for picking up all the controls on the Shades of Death map.  (So sorry we didn't think to give you two bags!)

- Paige Suhocki who helped bag maps, did both courses and then picked up a loop on Sand Spring Lake.

- Corinne Mayland, Eric Weyman and Sharon Siegler for staying late and rounding out the control pickup crew.

I am still stunned that I am not out there today picking up controls!
