A few more questions

Topic created by WindWalker on Tue May 3, 2011 at 11:00 pmNoticed there is a perminant course at locust Lake, said it was under construction expected to be ready in 2010. Is this up and running and what level? This is pretty close to me and I ride bike up there, in and all around the park. There is some cool stuff around there. I like to make practical use of my travel, so a few hours fishing at Locust Lake followed by some O would qualify.
Noticed the summer picnic at Fort Washington is a relay, how does a relay work?
Also, I'll be at French Creek this Sunday, pretty much most of the event with an early run, helping with start and picking up controls. If by any chance any part of the club library makes it to this event I would be most interested in a good book to help my skills progress. And if by any chance the club O-suits make it to this event I am still in the market for some 3/4 length O-pants.
Thanks, Mike

Reply by edscott on Wed May 4, 2011 at 11:14 amThe Locust Lake permanent course is a beginners course that goes around the lake, mostly on the paved bike/walking trail. The mapped area is the lake plus a few hundred meters in from the shoreline. There's plenty of interesting terrain up there to map and support an A event if we can get a good base map.

Reply by Sswede on Wed May 4, 2011 at 11:17 amThe Fort Washington event is the summer picnic and VP event (meaning the club VP [me] is responsible for it). It includes a "special" course and details will be revealed a week or two before. There is a picnic following the event that includes the summer business meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend.
