Some of you may remember when we had strudents living with us for a school year who were orienteers.  Our first student was Alisa Raitanen from Finland.   While she was with us her older sister was training in New Zealand with the Finnish Orienteering team for the world orienteering championships.  Alisa was such a great addition to our family and enjoyed being able to orienteer here in the U.S.  Her younger brother Topi made the Finnish Orienteering Relay team a few years ago and won gold at the junior world orienteering championships.  If you look him up in wikipedia you will see it mentions both Orienteering and Steeplechase.   Topi is at the Olympics for Finland and yesterday finished 2nd by .17 seconds in the 3000M Steeplechase.   He will race in the final on Monday 8/2/21.   We wish him well!
