Crow's Nest Schedule Change

Topic created by BobGross on Sun Jun 23, 2019 at 6:40 pmAfter walking the property this week and seeing all the fields planted in corn and oats and the extra green woods planted by Mother Nature. It's been decided it would be best to change this Summer event to beginner instructions followed by white and yellow, all on trails, courses.Instructions will begin at 10:30 followed by the beginner courses.Sorry for the last minute change. It's still a beautiful place for a trail walk/run.If anyone's interested I can set out a couple extra controls to make a longer trail run.Maybe after the harvest we can try Crow's Nest again.

Reply by BobGross on Sat Jun 29, 2019 at 2:01 pmThis beginner event is open to all. We'll be putting out a longer trail/white course for anyone interested in hiking or running the trails through the park.Come early because the courses will be taking down early after the beginners are all in from their courses.

Reply by BobGross on Sat Jun 29, 2019 at 4:48 pmI'll have course lengths posted this week. I'm thinking of a figure 8 loop to give runners an option of lengths.Stay tuned.

Reply by Magna111 on Tue Jul 2, 2019 at 6:54 pmSaw the distances, will it be 2 separate courses, or is the long white just a few extra controls on the short course?

Reply by kathyu on Sat Jul 6, 2019 at 7:00 pmis the longer course 6k as the crow flies, or actually longer (even if you don't do something dumb in which case all bets are off)?

Reply by BobGross on Sat Jul 6, 2019 at 7:34 pmThat would be "as the crow flies" before happy hour. Both courses are all on a normal trail loop with some trail junctions where you could choose the wrong direction.
So fly like a crow but be wise like an owl and you should be OK. Oh and don't get caught by the redtail hawks that I keep seeing in the fields.
