I don't know how many of you plan your O' schedule a month or more in advance, but for those who do, please note that the NFP event, offering a full range of courses from White to Blue has been changed from 4/2 to SATURDAY 3/26.  The event is not confirmed yet, but we do not anticipate any issue with permissions.

Also, since I now have your attention, it's not too early to sign up for some exciting volunteer opportunities at this AMAZING webpage. Particularly unique are the slots to assist with hanging controls on a FRIDAY.

Thanks.  See you all in the woods soon.

Has anybody else experienced a dearth of events both orienteering and personal in February and too much to handle in March?  We just signed up for Racoongaine so we will miss NFP.  It's such a cool and interesting place.

Here is a plan: Run NFP (early) on Saturday, drive to Pittsburg, sleep, run Raccoongaine on Sunday, drive back home arriving about 12:30 AM Monday. We can do it!

    Another alternative:
    Early NFP
    Little Bennet Night O
    Raccoongaine

This is good, as it eliminates any wasteful sleep time on Saturday night, as you can just grab a quick nap in the car, arriving at the Rogaine ready to compete.  Collect your prize, a couple cups of coffee and you are ready to drive back to DVOA land.  Let us know how that works for you. Tongue out

Yep, Kathy. But February is almost always a slow month for me. I spend a lot of it sleeping!

Also planning to do NFP and then go down to the Night-O... then either stay over down there and do the Sunday Little Bennett event, or come home and go to Warwick on Sunday

    • Start NFP at 10:00. Get on the road to Little Bennett by 12:30.  Arrive at Little Bennett at 5:00 (take one hour nap).
    • Start little Bennett at 7:00.  Get on the road to Washington PA (hotel) by 8:30.  Arrive at Washington PA at 11:00pm.  Get to sleep by midnight.
    • Wake at 7:00. Get on road by 8:00 to arrive at raccoongaine by 9:00 (10:00 is the map distribution).
    • Finish Raccoongaine at 5:00.  Get on road to home by 6:00.  Arrive at home around Midnight.
    • Wake up at 4:00 am to go to work.
The Little Bennett detour adds about 2 hours to the trip time but it is a nice rest stop about half way to the Raccoongaine.  Plus there are not many opportunities for Night O'ing.

This reminds me of the old car rally days when we ran NQP in the Pineys all night then went down to Rose Tree for a Sunday afternoon event.  NQP was great, but we had to bag Rose Tree after two controls.
