Delaware Valley Orienteering Association

The Wednesday evening evening events begin this year on May 15 which happens to be a Wednesday - of course! - and also happens to be World Orienteering Day.  There are 10 events this year between May 15 and July 24, one every Wednesday except July 3rd.

This year features 2 brand new maps - FDR Park and the American Swedish Historical Museum, and Germantown Academy; 2 maps that haven't been used much - Ridley Park Mansion Area and Penn State Berks Campus; 1 map that hasn't been used for a sprint before - Green Lane; and 5 that are tried and true - Wilson Farm Park, Ft. Washington, Hibernia, Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education and perennial favorite Norristown State Hospital.

All 10 events are scheduled to start by 6pm (earlier if the event director/course setter want or can) and controls are picked up starting no later than 7:30pm so that we can be out of the park by 8pm.  Each event features 2 short courses, suitable for beginners and perfect for summer weather.

These events are being run as a fundraiser for the US Orienteering Team.  Fees for the events are $10 for one course, $15 for two and an additional $5 if you want to rent an SI-Air card (you just have to get the SI-card close to the control and not actually insert it) at those events where it is offered (all events except Ridley, Hibernia and Penn State Berks).
