Fair Hill Event

Topic created by rtolbert on Fri Oct 31, 2014 at 8:53 pmThis Sunday's event will run out of the South Appleton Road lot and will use terrain on the east side of the Big Elk Creek an area not often used. Don't forget that Daylight Savings Time ends at 2am on Sunday morning. This loss of an hour of daylight means control pick will commence at 2:30 because the park closes at sunset. Plan your arrival and course selection with this in mind.

Reply by DaveDarrah on Sun Nov 2, 2014 at 8:25 pmIf this wasn't the windiest O meet I've done, it must be close. My thanks to the organizers and helpers who managed to stay anchored while we runners took refuge in the woods. Enjoyed the Brown course -- there were some briars (in evidence as I look at my wrist while I type) but I have to admit it was very well set.

Reply by edscott on Mon Nov 3, 2014 at 0:05 amAgree it was like being in a wind tunnel. And we could look down the fencerow and see where the leaves were hardly moving. I really didn't notice any wind on most of the course, but at the registration area it was brutal most of the day. The event workers really need to be recognized for their perserverance.
