Help needed Oct 2 Campgaw Scout O (New Map)

Topic created by BRycharski on Fri Sep 10, 2010 at 3:15 pmOK all, this is a offer of a Brand new training Run/Map for those transiting thru to get to the Harriman HVO O meet on 3 Oct. Orienteering is 1 of 10 activity stations so the Pace of work should allow volunteer worker breaks...
On 2 Oct starting at 9 am and runing thru 4 pm, I will be hosting a new White and Yellow map course for 3-400 or 500 Scouts ??? I have minimal event crew and still seek help with the start and finish crews
I have 2 dozen newbies showing up and desire a few local HVO Club helpers (At least Guy O is helping). for the usual reasons I am having poor luck getting helpers to date. Its free, its on a Brand new CAD topo map, and we just need a few more staff "trainers" and meet officials, and the next day is the HVO Harriman Park special Long O event, so maybe you need a training O - run on Saturday?
So for what its worth, If able to attend/help, ...contact me or mention at the entrance to the registration and parking pass Scouter folk that you are seeking the Orienteering Station at Car Lot P2 at Campgaw Co Park, 10 minutes form th eroute 17 and 287 highway junction, in Mahwah, NJ - email me for directions off NJ 208 or US 287- I will use Punch cards (No e punch).

I will set a Adult Long Orange level flag training course for the enticement of volunteers if that helps, as the map to be honest the old 1982 revised Crane map is a large work in progress, and will still need more field checking (full map redone later in 2011). Thanks, Bob Rycharski
