Hickory Run Training weekend

Topic created by Orienteeringmom on Sun Aug 15, 2010 at 12:12 pmWe are looking for helpers for the Hickory Run training weekend. We need workers for the Night O which would come from people that are going to be up there for the weekend unless you are planning to come up saturday night for the night O. We also need helpers for the sunday event. This is a DVOA regular local event and it is open to all, you just need to pre-register with Fred so that we have enough maps. You can pay on sunday when you arrive. Also if you do NOT pre-register there is no member fee on sunday you will pay $7.00 for your map. We have a very busy weekend and a large quantity of maps to make for the weekend and other than hand drawing we have no way to add additional maps, so we ask that you do some planning and pre-register for the sunday course. We need all help for sunday. We specially need someone to run the epunching for us. We need start help (there are two of them), finish help and control pickup. Control pick up is another important need for us. Most of us up there have been there since sometime on friday and by sunday afternoon we are exhausted and just want to clean up the camp and go home, so if you are planning to come up for the local event and can give us a hand with control pick up, so that we can tend to other responsibilities for the camp it would be greatly appreciated.

Also a reminder that Noon time is the last start not 1PM so plan accordingly with your travel time to Hickory Run.
