I went over this afternoon to set controls in the less populated areas of the map and was quite surprised to see an entire NJ scout troop encompassing the Tuscarora Pavillion. Yes this is the start, finish and registration area. I guess the Scout people in charge double booked the Paviliion. Also, the parking lot close to the pavillion  has about 30 cars in it already, but there is plenty of parking, just a short walk away.

I walked down and talked with the fella in charge and he said they won't be out of there till 10:30/11am. He did kindly agree to share a corner of the paviliion with us, and two tables. I said that would work.

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up -  there will be a bunch of scouts getting breakfast in the paviliion while we're setting up and starting, and the entire area around the paviliion is scattered with tents. Not sure if they will be packed up or not, but expect a flurry of activity from the scouts as they break camp.

It could be interesting, but we'll make the best of it. I invited them to stay and run the white or yellow course, maybe some will?

Hope to see you tomorrow. Yeah it may give a shower or two, but hey when's the last time you ran in the rain? Been awhile for sure. It'll beat the dust I had today. I know my garden is begging for rain, so I say let it rain if it wants too.

Scout camps usually clear out quickly on a Sunday morning so showing up at 11 should be fine.  I'll still be there before 10.

A great Job Mike and Lisa!  Sadly I was unable to run due to my surgery but from what I saw at registration you guys were well prepared and organized.  It is not often that we get a new course setter and Event Director with only a year of orienteering experience.  We have club member that have been with the club longer than Denny and I (20+years) and they still haven't been event directors or course setter.  So thank you so very much for stepping up and giving it a try and it was a good try too.  Hope to see you guys trying a new park sometime soon.

Wow, what a great day in the woods. Thank you, Mike and Lisa. Good size crowd, all things considered!

Seconding (or, I guess, thirding), the kudos, Mike and Lisa. Well worth the longer-than-normal hike up from the Philly area. Excellent job on your first ventures.
