DVOA Jukola 2012 Shirts
DVOA is sending teams to Jukola - the largest orienteering relay in the world. This is the second time DVOA has sent teams and is among the few times that there has been a team made up exclusively of members from a single American club. The race is in June, and the team has commissioned special racing shirts for all the athletes.
They are being produced by o21e, a USA-based company who is the new exclusive uniform provider to the US Orienteering Teams. They are exactly the same material and construction as what the best athletes in the US will be bearing at the international championships over the next several years. These shirts feature the latest performance fabrics and robust construction that will be able to stand up to our toughest Delaware Valley terrain.
For a limited time, these same shirts will be available for purchase for all DVOA club members for $55. The only difference between the Jukola shirts and the general model is that team members will have their names on the front right.
These shirts won't take the place of a standard DVOA shirt, but they certainly can complement one. Because the team will be setting off at the beginning of June, all orders and payments will need to be received by May 1, 2012 so that there is enough time for manufacture and delivery.
The design borrows from familiar DVOA design cues, reflects our proud heritage, and looks to the future. [Note-this design is almost finished. There are a few adjustments to coloring and fonts that the manufacturers will need to make before production. If we get an update, it will be posted.]
For sizing, please indicate the chest size of a garment that fits the way you like. Lay the shirt flat and measure across the chest an inch below the arm pits for half the garment size in inches. A relaxed fit for the medium range should be about 3-4" larger than body measurement. Note that these shirts will be a little roomier than the Extreme tops from Trimtex or Axis Gear. o21e will map those measurements to the jersey size.
If you are interested or have questions, please contact Clem McGrath at mcgrat07[at]yahoo[dot]com and include "Jukola shirt" in the subject.
This is a great chance to show your club spirit and support our DVOA teams on the world stage.
Thanks!

Does this mean I need to take a measurement, then double it? Or just give the straight measurement from across the chest of a shirt with a fit I like?
Also only adding 3-4" for a more relaxed fit, otherwise use the true measurement? -
Reply by j-man on Tue Apr 17, 2012 at 5:04 pmMy take is that these sizes are more true to form than our regular Axis Gear shirts. So, I have a medium Axis Gear shirt, which is a little tight, and a medium o21e shirt which is perfect.
