What a day. At 9:00 PM I finally finished fixing the results. The problem was that two boxes had a number on the outside that was different than the number that was programed. It took a while, but I think I have reprogrammed the computer and it was giving e the correct results. Lena should get them posted soon, unless she finds more errors that I have made. (fingers crossed)

With egg on my face, I apologize. Going home with no finish list is always disappointing. At least we do not have to wait three months for the Briar Patch to come out. (Old timers will understand that one)

As you probably know, this event was scheduled for 2020, until our governor prevented half of our members from entering Pennsylvania. The courses did not need much tweaking, so field checking went quick. Day of meet work started early, and went late. I would still be out there if I did not have some great helpers. Kathy Urban vetted the flag locations last year. She actually did it twice, collecting the streamers when the event was canceled.
Yesterday and this morning, Sharon Siegler was everywhere. Two days worth of flags were hung Friday, and tarps and computers, road signs and survey flags all had to be erected this morning. Early starts were at 9:30, which was right when my computer guru showed up. Rick Reynolds orienteers once a year or so, and always sets up my computers. His wife Sally works the paper registration, and collects any money. Thank you to them

Dave Morgan signed up on the volunteer sheet to work start. Unexpectedly, the tent on the start table started walking away. He and Dave Urban got some rope and tied it to a nearby tree, which worked. Bob Burton took over starts around 12:00 so Dave could run.

Just when everyone started to finish, and complained about the erroneus mis-punchesJulie Kiem showed up  (see above) She stayed on the computer until the last finisher.
Finally we get to pick up, which was handled by Mitch and Donna Zimmer, Bob Burton, and Bob Fink. While they were in the woods, Pat Burton helped pack boxes, fold up finish pennants, and fold up tarps.
Thank you one and all, especially the competitors. I live in fear of doing all of this work, and no one showing up.

    See you tomorrow, Steve
