Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who showed up last Sunday even though the early weather was not much fun for the set-up crew... the weather let up and most enjoyed the chance to get out on a course. Courses were on the easy side but I think it was a good start to the Spring season.  Thank you to Mary for drawing the white, yellow and orange course maps. I think we were close to using up the 30 orange maps we pre-marked.

I got to draw the Sprint course... and it has been a while since I have had to do that for a regular local event. (It is almost like reading a good book.) Thanks to Mary & Rob Frank for help in control placement checking the week before and for setting out the controls in the bad weather Sunday morning. Thank you Dave Morgan for showing up early in the slight rain to help get things organized for registration with Mary and thanks to Diane Reider for help during the event at registration.  Additional thanks to Mitch and Donna Zimmer for help during the event and control removal along with Lena Kushleyeva, Kathy Moss and Sam Kolins for their  event support and control removal at the end of a long day.   There was a lot of new faces trying orienteering and many of the DVOA members attending seemed to have had something to do with this!!!  

Remember Chris Hand is having great event this Saturday at McKaig and Scott Thatcher's and Steve Ohrwaschel's St. Patrick's Day event of course at "Hibernia" County Park this Sunday.

P.S. I did keep my promise that the fields might be a bit..bit..bit muddy but I was shown a thorn like "cacti" piece of nature.. I did say "no catci" but I didn't say "no cacti like" plants.
