Topic created by Orienteer7 on Fri Mar 8, 2019 at 9:17 pmOkay...kind of the first event of the season unless you were one of the club members who traveled to the U.S. Southwest to exerience "dry" snow and do some "acupuncture" orienteering. We will have a Beginner, Adv Beginner, Intermediate and a [Advance(?) short course] to get you warmed up for the upcoming Spring season. We are expecting rain at present but we have the pavilion at the park and composting bathroom adjacent to the pavilion open for use. The rain will be a "warm?" rain if the temperature gets to 57 degrees....almost a heat wave!! Rain to let up by Noon. All farm fields are open and crossable as no planting has occurred yet. We will be open for starts from 10am until 1pm as usual but we will begin removing controls around 2:30pm(Beginner) White Course - 3.3km / 9 controls / 60m climb(Adv Beginner) Yellow Course - 3.8km / 10 controls / 70m climb(Intermediate) Orange Course - 4.5km / 10 controls / 60m climb(Advanced ??) Sprint/Short Course - 3.4km / 11 controls / 70m climbIf the snow is all gone the fields may be a bit bit bit muddy...but there will be no Cacti!Remember to set your cloks ahead Saturday night.Hope to see you Sunday! Reply by skolins on Mon Mar 11, 2019 at 7:59 pmThank you to the Franks for putting on this event. The rained stopped in time for us running the courses but not for Mark setting out the controls! I thought that the sprint was a great idea to add something extra to the event - thanks for including that.As an Arizona participant, I read your line in previous message as the fields will be muddy :) but there will be no cacti :(I think I brought half of the park home with me on my clothes and it was great!
