DVOA retains Broken Compass at Mid Atlantics

Topic created by JanetT on Sat Dec 15, 2018 at 8:54 amThanks to a good turnout of DVOA members on a cold day, and fantastic finishes and strong performances by DVOA individuals and relay teams, DVOA was able to successfully defend their championship status ... in Quantico O Club territory! In particular, it's worth noting that the winning relay team was a 6-pt Junior team composed of Kirsten Mayland, Anthony Riley, and Peter Zakrevski! From the QOC website: "The team scoring for the Mid-Atlantics is a tad complicated, and I don't pretend to understand it completely. The various Mid-Atlantic clubs receive points based on the number of their members who participate and on how well they perform in the races. Then the relay results are added to the mix, and the final point totals tallied. I'm told by folks with better math skills than I that this year's Broken Compass Award for top performance at the Mid-Atlantics goes to the Delaware Valley Orienteering Association. Congratulations DVOA! We look forward to the chance to reclaim the Broken Compass at next year's Championships." http://qocweb.org/events/2018/12/9/seneca-creek-smokey-glen/results http://qocweb.org/sites/default/files/relay-results-Mid-Atlantics-2018.pdf Congratulations to DVOA. Next year it's in our terrain; be sure to turn out to help keep it here.
