A few things addition to the notes already posted on the event page... I'll recap with setter's notes available at the event.

As my lawn shows, it's been a banner year for vegetation growth. The usual late summer browning never happened and everything is still lush and green. At Fair Hill, the fields seem higher and greener than I remember from past events; and the thorny vines are everywhere, even encroaching on otherwise substantial trails.

    1. A few course-relevant trails are so overgrown at some point along their length that I would consider them unusable. They will be marked with red X's even though they are not officially closed, and may exist for some part of their path. A map showing them will be available at registration. Hopefully, I've checked all relevant trails, but there's no guarentee.
    2. In some cases, the entrances to trails through the field boundaries are somewhat obscured but still passable. This makes for only more of an orienteering challenge, but as the beginner courses (White and Yellow) also make such transitions, they are probably more difficult than usual.
    3. As mentioned above, some of the fields are relatively high (knee-high?) and not as easy to pass through as often the case here. Adult runners shouldn't have a problem, although it might be a bit more tiring. But I suspect young kids might find it a bit much. In other words, this might not be a great venue to do white or yellow with toddlers.
    4. And, lurking in that high grass are ticks. Just pulled a very tiny one attached to my leg this morning. So, everyone should do a thorough check afterwards (you do that every time, don't you?)
