MASOC "30" in 2018 and MAJRROTC "1" Champs 2018

Topic created by Orienteer7 on Fri Sep 22, 2017 at 7:58 amI am once again working with Ed Scott to host the Annual MASOC (30) event and in the past have had many individuals regularly volunteer to support this event. Good news as of now is that the event which is scheduled for May 4th and 5th, 2018 does not coincide with the annual West Point national event or any other nationals. I would would like to begin to formalize the volunteer process by having individauls volunteet to head up start, finish, day of event start packet pick-up, results, awards, etc. I believe this would greatly reduce the stress on both myself and Ed. If your interested in volunteering please contact me at orienteer7 at aol dot com. The event is held at French Creek.I would like to also begin hosting the "first" Mid-Atlantic JR ROTC and ROTC Champs and would be willing to event direct this event for a few years... We have seen success with Bob Burg's NJ ROTC event. I believe there is enough interest to get this event off the ground and would look to use French Creek (a.k.a the U.S. Orienteering Capital") as the starting site. The target window would be early to mid-April 2018 (prior to West Point and NEOC national events). I need a core of interested individuals to support this effort so once again if you would like to volunteer please contact me at orienteer7 at aol dot com. I believe in year one we could expect 200+ and grow the event in the following few years to rival our exceed MASOC for turnout. If you decide to contact me please be specific which event you could help with. If you have not helped in the past or are new to the club we can still use your help...just let me knowMark Frank

Unfortunately their Nationals usually happen in March, which pushes qualifying events even earlier.
