Another September, and another great HR training camp. With three levels of training, every club member could benefit from this weekend.
Of course, with any major project, especially in a volunteer organization, there are many people deserving of praise.
This year,we had a new team leading the camp. Great job Nancy Sharp and Ralph Tolbert.
I know all to well how important feeding 160 people is. With my retirement, Steve Ohrwaschel really stepped up to the plate. I think he was a bit overwhelmed when Ralph gave him the numbers, but by the weekend he had everything ready and really came through. Steve Reeps and Nate Ohrwaschel were right by his side.
Janet Porter did her standard great work with organizing the training. I am not sure who all of the trainers were, but I know that Corrine Mayland, Tom Overbaugh, Bob Gross, Bob Meyer, Ed Scott, Denny Porter, Donna Terefenko, Anne Fitch, Julie Kiem, and Bob Berg all had a hand in it.
Glen and Janet Tryson helped out setting training flags on Friday, and then came back on Sunday to pick up course flags. Also getting course flags were Rob Wilkison, Diane Rieder and her friend John, Dennis ?, and Rich Boehme.
Sandy Fillebrown ran the computers all weekend, as well as folding and bagging the maps.
Dan Mayland worked start Saturday night, and Roger and Andrea Hartley and Kathy Moss worked starts on Sunday.
Several Boy Scouts, and the FUMA cadets and the West Point cadets helped out wherever they were asked.
As always, Sharon Siegler was right by my side through out the planning and course hanging, always keeping me honest.
No doubt that I missed someone, I could not be everywhere all the time

Big thanks to Steve Aronson and Sharon Siegler for jumping out of the pot (the kitchen) and into the fire (course setting). Steve and Sharon set two events: the night-O and Sunday's full complement of courses. And this followed shortly on the heels of a Rogaine that Steve organized at French Creek over the 4th of July weekend.

I heard some discussion about the placement of one control on Sunday's advanced courses from folks who circled the area numerous times before finding it, but several other experienced orienteers assured us they had found the control on their first attack, right where they expected it to be. Ah, the joys of orienteering.

Let me add my thanks to Steve A's to the kitchen crew, the training crew, the e-punch crew (Sandy Fillebrown and John Gillette), and the folks who helped out at start and picking up controls. As you can see from Steve's post, it takes a lot of people to make a successful event.

And thanks to Ralph Tolbert for stepping up to be the registrar for the weekend. Being registrar for this event is much more complicated than being registrar for an A-event because of finding accommodations (putting people into cabins).

I wanted to drill down and thank everyone on Team Kitchen for all their help this weekend at Hickory Run . A big shout out to Steve "Pancake Man" Reeps, Lena Kushleyeva, Nate "O" , Mary Frank, Jen "MOD" Dinnocenti, and several students from FUMA all made my job more of a project manager than as a cook.

Yes I think we made a very smooth transition to a new crew for the Training Weekend.  In many aspects it is as big a job as organizing an A event.
