Summer Sprint Series
-
Topic created by kathyu on Wed May 31, 2017 at 2:21 pmIt's really terrific that we are trying something new this summer, and I hope lots of folks come out, especially tonight, the first event at the Schuylkill Center. It's hard to get volunteers to step up, so please make their efforts worthwhile and have a bunch of fun at the same time. A related question -- are the sprints going to be in the rankings? Hope so. Finally, if you see new faces at the sprints, be sure they are welcomed and their questions answered. .

Reply by kathyu on Wed May 31, 2017 at 9:12 pmOmg, the sprint (I did only course 1) was so much fun. If you missed it, come out to the next. Anyway, see you Saturday June 3, Dave's birthday, for a rerun at the Schuylkill Center. This time, full set of courses.

Reply by Sandy on Wed May 31, 2017 at 9:26 pmThanks to everyone who came out! I was very happy to see so many people come enjoy the beautiful evening. Lots of helpers so we were picked up and cleaned up and out of the park a little before dark. Helpers include Dave and Kathy Urban, Nate Orwaschel, Karl Ahlswede for pickup and Dave, Kathy, Nate and Hugh MacMullan for registration, epunch and start. Bob Fink, Bob Agosta and Wyatt Riley stuck around and helped clean up and would have gone to collect controls if needed. Thanks everyone for pitching in! Made it so enjoyable for me. Results coming soon.
By the way, if you are thinking of coming to Norristown, be sure to check the details that I'll be posting soon. We are using the hospital grounds, not the farm park so not the usual directions. I'll be posting speciific information about parking soon. -
Reply by johncampbell on Wed May 31, 2017 at 10:46 pmA huge thanks to Sandy and Nate for organizing this sprint series. A perfect summer evening orienteering. I really enjoyed this evening and the chance to get out in the woods and catch up with friends. Looking forward to attending some more in this series.
