Topic created by kathyu on Tue May 9, 2017 at 3:17 pmThank you to Mary Frank and her team for setting up orienteering at the Montco Senior Games for 2017. A wonderful time was had by all the participants and I believe we will be seeing some of these folks again! The course was a white level sprint with a little variety thrown in. When we left, I was leading the 70 year old bracket, but we had to go to bowling finals for our winter league. We did great there too.

Reply by kathyu on Fri May 12, 2017 at 9:08 pmNotes from the awards lunch at the Montgomery County Senior Games -- Sandy Campbell had so much fun last year, despite a not-so-great first time running her orienteering course in the rain, that she came to a couple of meets to learn the sport a little more, and she was recognized for cutting 30 minutes off her run time from the games last year! Several runners were serious racers looking for a new challenge and we expect to see them at DVOA meets. The summer series at conveniently located venues will, we hope, attract some of these folks, so be sure to welcome them if you meet them. Everyone was really grateful to DVOA and Mary Frank for putting on this event.
