URGENT CALL for a Few More Helping Hands at Batsto This Saturday
-
Topic created by bobburg on Wed Apr 12, 2017 at 3:01 pmIt's getting down to crunch time ensuring that we have enough help to make this Saturday fun for everyone.THE MOST CRITICAL -- After running her course, Kathy U will be taking over the e-system cruising it into day's completion. She's already downloaded the courses, so the computer is in "click and go" mode. We just need someone to jump-start the day until Kathy comes back in. So whoever feels reasonably comfortable running the computer and has had an itch to run the pine barrens -- YOU are who we've looking (and praying) for Please get in touch with me directly. bburg@comcast.netPerhaps Kathy can even offer some brief counsel if needed as she passes through Registration on her way to her 10am Start.Other Important RolesSome early bird (by 9am is in plenty of time) who would enjoy helping set up the staging area and lending a hand wherever needed, then go out and enjoy the park.At least 2 volunteers who could go out on a course when they arrive, then relieve our morning crew at Reg and Start when you return. And if whoever needs the Red Kit next would like to play one of these roles, that could take care of 2 birds with one feathery touch.
Then of course Pick-Up - We already have a couple of people, and my experience is that there always seem to be sufficient numbers wanting to go out for one last leisurely look at the woods and map.Whoever thinks that any of these sound like a great way to spend an April Saturday in the 60's while lending a much appreciated hand, please reply to me. (And come to think of it, we'll even throw in your course for free!)THE WOODS ARE IN IDEAL CONDITIONS -- Not too hot, not too cold, no leaves on the undergrowth yet, and Batsto's legendary intricately rolling terrain inviting you. I've worked to maximize the more breathtaking terrain and lighter areas of undergrowth on route choice, mapped plenty of newly revised features (which courses will show off to full advantage), and most courses will even catch beautiful vistas of Batsto Lake which courses rarely visit. As always, I love this set of courses, and trust you will love them too as you return to Finish. Batsto is a gem of a venue not to be missed. -
