We could use some more volunteers, we only have 4 confirmed and 2 unconfirmed.  Hanging Controls Sat morning, e-punch, Start, Pickup Controls, etc.  Please use the volunteer link or respond to this post.  Thanks.

Can you clarify your e-punch (morning/afternoon) and hanging controls needs?  Are the sites staked?  Isn't Wyatt hanging controls?

Erik - Thanks for checking - the events setup is fine - all maps are bagged, and those + control descriptions are already in the car, sites are all streamered, control-hanging loops are pre-bagged.  We're just looking for a few last minute volunteers to further share (and lighten) the day-of work.

I think we've got enough for control hanging, but if you want to join in the 7:30am fun, you're welcome...
Someone doing a shift on the Epunch computer help, and another hand for starts would be esp. helpful - http://dvoa.org/events/vols/vol.php?sked_id=1051 if you want to fill one of the remaining volunteer slots!

And while I have your attention, let me remind you that:

Maps are 1:7,500 (unusual scale), and two other notes that didn't make the schedule post:
    - Several courses have criss-crossing lines - watch them carefully and check you are running to the right number next.
    - Brown #2 and #8 are the _same_ control - just approached from a different direction.  It's labeleld 2/8 on the map. Just punch it after #1, and again, after #7, and you'll be fine.  As above, keep track of which control number you are heading to - there are 4 lines coming out of that control. :)

Between Sandy and Erik sounds like epunch is covered, but happy to sit down if you need a break.  I hear Kathy Geist wants an epunch lesson.  See you Saturday.  Hope to see the bear if he doesn't get hit by a car crossing Ridge or shot by a trigger happy local.

This event seems to draw rare visitors to Phila, first the Pope and now a bear.  Reminds me of a joke.  Anyway, if you were actually to "bear witness":

Wildlife officials say if you are confronted by a bear you want to raise your arms and make yourself look bigger than you are and make a lot of noise in hopes of scaring it away.
