We need volunteers for MASOC Saturday.  I know some have told me, and others may have told Mark or Mary that they are coming to help, but I’d like to have a complete list so we and spot any weak areas before Saturday morning.  Ed

I can help out with start, if needed.  I have permission to come help out on Saturday.

However; will there be time for me to run a course (Brown or Score-O) after the scouts have perfromed their "Raid Gauloises"?

All workers can run their course during the day on Saturday and their results will be folded into the Sunday results for ranking purposes.

Dave is picking up controls at FC on Sunday. I can pick up epunch duties when I get back from brown course but I'm concerned I might take kind of long. Do you have anyone to close down and report scores? I will be available if you need me. Reply here or drop me a line. Kathyu

Thanks to all that helped today at Mark's debut as Event Director of MASOC. I don't have a complete list, but you know who you are. As usual all went smoothly on the surface and the minor glitches were quickly resolved.  I'm starting the detailed troop results tonight, but that is still a long old school sort and calculate process.  Hope to have them up on the scoutorienteering.com website in a week or so with a link added to the DVOA site.  The visibility in the woods is still relatively good so come out tomorrow and enjoy the first sunny day in over a week.

Masoc is a two part event. In the morning the kids go out in pairs on one map, and in the afternoon the same pair go out on a score o map, so yes, everyone takes one map home.

The most advanced kids and the adults did use e-punching this year, with some talk of moving them all to it in the near future. You would need a whole ton of rental sticks though. And you know at least somebody will lose one (or two or three) even if you strap it to their bodies. Considering kids lost shoes and apparently even a pair of pants this year . But it would make life easier for us on the number crunching and hanging chad checking crew.
