Route Gadget

Topic created by CarolKlu on Wed Oct 21, 2015 at 8:58 amI just uploaded my GPS file for Washington Crossing and it's evident that my overlay is the slightest bit "off" from the map. I'd like to be able to "slide" my route around until it matches the trails and roads. How can I do this? Someone was trying to explain this to me on Saturday but without my laptop in front of me open to the Route Gadget map, I got lost. HAHA.

Next, between control points, if you right click on the line you get a blue square. You can add as many of these as you like and change the shape of the line. There are already blue squares at each control point so you will end up at the control.

If you ad extra blue points (by right clicking your track were you want to shift it) first, they will be removed if you adjust the time second. After adding a blue point you can adjust you track at that spot by draging the blue point to where you want it. This shifts your track between the next two closest plue points. It's important to ue the split based option as Erik mentioned as it breaks your overall track into indiviual legs and places the time when you punched the control on the control point.LOOKING AT YOUR ROUTE - it looks like you started your tracking as you approached the start but because RG asssumes your route starts when you punch the start control, everything is off by that amount. If you want to play with this you can ask Hugh (the RG guru) to delete your entered route so you can reload it and try the above suggestions.
