The length and climb are on the schedule page, but here is a short bit on the courses and the terrain this weekend. The woods is less lush after nearly 4 weeks of total drought.  Visibility is much better than you might expect in early September.  The area does have areas where there is a lot of rock underfoot.  The concentrated areas are mapped, but there are very few places that are totally rock free.  The power line that bisects the map North and South has not been mowed for a couple years. If it is a factor on your course, look it over and make your choice.  There are a lot of shared controls, but not many shared legs.  Following might be disastrous.  Yes, there are lots of renegade and unmapped bike trails.  Some are well worn and others are from years past.  All I can say is that if it is going where you want to go, use it.  BUT keep track of where you are so that you are aware if/when it begins to take you where you don't want to go.  Come and have fun.

Controls are in. Last 5 or 6 in a steady downpour.  Tried a few alternative routes today to see how they might work out.  If it looks green and gnarley it probably is.. and there could be rocks hidden in the stiltgrass.

It was great to spend the day at Angora Fruit Farm and Antietam Lake Park ( as a competitor this time!). The course had a lot of decision points and some great woods runs. Loved the control at "the bottom of the cave".

Thanks to Ed for a very nice red course at Mount Penn.  I was surprised by how much of the course he was able to get into really nice woods even with the summer vegetation.  Made for some very pleasant navagating and running.

Thank your for the time you put in!

Sorry for the lag time on RoutGadget (in general, recently) ... your results and RG team have had a VERY busy summer!!
