One person at a time, that is, and the one person we need right now is you!We need event directors for a covy of DVOA events this fall. No experience needed!The course setter does the bulk of the work, and they've already stepped up and are engaged in what's required for a good orienteering experience in the woods.What an event director does is help ensure a good experience up to the Start box. Ninety-nine percent of what an event director does occurs on the day of the event. An event director makes sure the event kit (registration form, tent if needed, directional signs) gets deployed at the event site on the day of event. S/he works with the members of the e-punch team to make sure at least two people will be available to run the e-punch computer. S/he also makes sure there's plenty of water at the registration area for the finishers (the course setter takes care of water in the woods) and some light refreshments, if they so choose.There are a few other duties, and I can fill you in on those details.We have eight (8) events in search of an event director. Please review the Event Schedule and look for a location where you are willing to help. We have openings in PA, MD, NJ and DE.
