Broken Compass Award
-
Topic created by Karl on Sun Oct 31, 2010 at 7:29 pmDVOA is the recipient of this year's MidAtlantic Orienteering Broken Compass Award by virtue of some stellar performances by people making the hike to Hammond Rocks and the SVO hosted event. The Ahlswede family has the newly minted plaque (the old award could not be located) and it will be on display at the winter meeting.

If it belongs to anyone from DVOA let me know and I'll get it back to you.

Reply by edscott on Mon Nov 1, 2010 at 7:49 amIt was good to get back on the Hammonds Rock map. I went up and crawled around on the rocks for some good views afterward. now fess up.. anyone else have a sudden thought that they'd lost their epunch as they were approaching the flag? I didn't realize I had developed an automatic "prepunch" procedure and I was still automatically doing it more than half way through the course. Results are posted at http://www.furlong47.com/svo/results/2010/103110.html

Reply by Guy-O on Mon Nov 1, 2010 at 11:17 pmImpressive! Especially considering that DVOA was without the services of Vadim, Clem, Dasha, and Sergey, due to the aforementioned wedding.

Reply by wilburdeb on Tue Nov 2, 2010 at 12:31 pmDVOA has depth. What was really neat was that QOC orgainized a bus (for at least the second year in a row). What a great idea!

The parking lot at Lewis Morris is big enough for a few of them.
