Not so far back in our distant memory you tried to strike us down with bolts of lightning and smashed us with
driving hail.  You lured us in with your pristine open woods and now you try to lay us low with stiffling heat and
oppresive humidity all while we were trying to make friends with your wilder side.  Once again there will be many stories to be told by DVOAer's of what this now (probably) infamous mountain has shown them.  But beware mountain, heeded Erik's message in the "Have You Seen The Other side Of The Mountain?" post; we shall return to tame you and be your friend. 
As of the time of this post I have not seen any results from this event (due to 95% of my time being spent on course issues) but when they are up we will all see the  meaning of the above comments.
The combination of no one stepping up to be the official event director and the weather circumstances made me be more appreciative to the n'th degree of all the day of event helpers.

Any names not mentioned here no matter your role in helping makes you no less significant.  Thank you also.
Now back to the previous reference to Erik's post:  Wouldn't this have been a completely different event and wouldn't you have a completely different opinion of this mountain if we would start at the top, wiggle waggle down the mountain then be shuttled back up to parking?
Can we get a few volunteers to be shuttle drivers?  I personally think this mountain is worthy.
We will be back Pagoda Killer and we shall be victorious and you shall have a friend in DVOA.

An event like this makes you really appreciate watermellon,  ice tea  gatoraid and cookies!   What a crazy , hot day,   but we survived and kinda enjoyed it.   Thanks  pat and bob

Ditto to both Hugh and Pat's comments. It was good to be out orienteering again. And now I know I can use the heat as my excuse. I thought the green course was fine with control placement, it just seemed brutally physical. I appreciate the effort to put the event together and wish we could have stuck around more. After reviving on all the goodies the fatigue didn’t feel so bad. :)

OK, so it wasn't just me?  On paper, it didn't seem oppressively hot in the shady woods (compared to Summer events).  And that Brown course didn't have that much climb (except for uneccesary climb due to navigational errors).  But the combination of the 2 factors, when we aren't used to the heat yet, caused me to have to sit down 4 times to try and catch my breath as I was slowly shuffling back up the mountain.  I haven't ever had to do that even once before.
