I'd like to thank a number of people who made today's event, the 37th annual running of the Billygoat, a huge success up in the Delaware Water Gap.

First and formost, thanks to Clem McGrath who set the courses and had the inspiration to host the event in the Water Gap on the Egypt Mills map.  Everyone loved the courses and venue.

Roger and Andrea Hartley manned the aid station all day in addition to helping with parking and putting up signs and carting up a ton of equipment and supplies. Sandy Ahlswede helped at registration and with a variety of other tasks.  Patty Policelli pitched in as did Dasha Babushok.  Fred Kruesi helped with map production.  Ron Bortz brought lots of equipment and helped set up the arena.

And then there's the control picker uppers - I know it's tough to go back out after a hard race but I am really grateful: Ed Scott, Tom Overbaugh, Sam Kolins, Vadim Masalkov and Olga Baranova.

I am truly sorry if I've overlooked someone.

And thanks to Sandy and Clem for a great event.  The "Kid" course took us through some interesting terrain. I really enjoyed my day in the woods.

Great job by all crew members.

It was my first time up to the Water Gap for orienteering (besides the permanent course).  It's not often you can be running your course and have breathtaking views (or perhaps my breath was taking by the steep climb Smile ) and a deep wilderness feel.  Saw some pretty cool waterfalls while going off course a bit on #4.

    I'll be back!
