Topic created by kathyu on Thu Apr 16, 2015 at 2:48 pmSaturday April 18, Orienteering at super conveniently located Lower Perk/JJ Audubon with BIKE-O bonus!!Same time, Saturday April 18, Orienteering at Star Village, no advanced courses, but near Bethlehem, right on the way to the Sunday Goat. 1:5000 map. Great way to warm up for the Goat.The Billygoat comes to the Poconos! Sunday April 19. The 37th Annual Billygoat, in case you are new to orienteering, is one of those meets with an unusual format involving blood, sweat and tears. You have to be pre-registered to run the Goat or most of its less-taxing variations, but you can try the Baby Goat. Suggestion: Email Sandy F. to reserve a map. While not on the way to Billygoat-land, HVO's Tourne Park event is just 2-3 miles from I-287, in Boonton, NJ (exit 43).
We will have White - Blue courses, with Green - Blue at about Middle-distance lengths for the benefit of those running the goat on Sunday.
And, it would not be going that far out on a limb to suggest that Tourne Park terrain might the best among the 3 Saturday O-venues...
