We are coming very close to losing 4 weekends of Orienteering between now and the June picnic. Permissions take time, and they are not started until we are sure there is an event director and course setter in place.  After the Scout meet we have four consectuive weeks without an event. This hasn't happened since I started with the club in 1983.

    The current scjhedule lists:

    5/10 Norristown.
5/17 Spackman Creek, but any location with a relatively simple permission process will work
5/24 Delmont.  Good close by location for many club members if we can still get permission.
5/31 Mt Penn Pagoda.  Probably would have to use the Fire Tower parking area as the Rotary fields will almost certainly be in use that weekend.

We need to get something on these weekends.  If anyone has a desire to do any of these events or has an alterante location that we can get on short notice, please contact Mary so the permission process can be started.

If someone would take the C.S. job for Springton I would take C.S. for Pagoda.
However, that has to happen immediately as I need to have whichever courses set by mid May before going on vacation. If no response to this proposal is forthcoming within the week I will proceed with Springton.

Generous offer Nate.  Was going to look for someone to do just that.......IF noone else jumps in there to be C.S. for Springton by this Sunday night, no later, so the club could have a Pagoda event.
    That doesn't happen? you're on.

    Thanks
    Ron

We have had a CS and an ED listed on the website for a few months.  I hope we have permission, but I've not heard anything.

IF Norristown is put on Larry & I will commit to being "super volunteers" - coming early, staying late, and doing whatever is needed.  However, being a director won't fit into our calendar.

Being event directors for Delmont is possible IF someone else commits to being a course setter.  This would be the 1st time we've ever tried running a "full slate" event.  All we've done before is beginner events.
