This is one area where our club falls a bit short.........asking for donations.
In the days of e-punch infancy for our club there were some who made donations to help give a little kick start to get e-punch launched.
There is now a definite need to upgrade the existing two kits in the form of additional SI boxes and new(er)
    flags.
The executive committee and BOD have to wrestle with wether there is sufficient resourses to make these purchases verses new and/or remap of many of our venues and other ongoing costs of keeping the club moving forward.
Consider this an official call from a BOD member to those who would be so inclined to consider a donation in any amount to help specifically with the current e-punch needs.
You should contact an executive; Pres., V.P., Secretary, or Treasurer; directly with your desire to help out the club.

Many Thanks to everyone that helps make the club run in any way.

So, what is the plan for epunch kits?  I've heard a number of alternatives.  Is the starting point getting ten more boxes for each of the two kits?  What other equipment would be needed to support it?  What current equipment should be phased out?  What is the magnitude of the cost?  What would be the on-going cost?

How about a group coming up with a plan and going to the membership to fund the plan.  I think there are a number of us in the club who would be willing and able to provide funding for a well conceived plan.

Has the club ever applied for grant funding? PA DCNR (Dept Conservation & Natural Resources) dispurses funds annually to projects that apply for and are selected. I just made the connection tonight looking at the grant application that DVOA would be eligible as a 501 (c) (3) corporation.
The funds have to be match 50% from another source but if you would have people commit funds, or raise funds, or have the organization comit funds to a spicific project, you could potentially get DCNR to match the money dollar for dollar.
Only problem right now is that the deadline for this year is Thursday (April 16).

Is the deadline based on the tax year (april 15)? If so, we could be ready for next year

Not specifically, but they like to make things challenging :)

They have regional pre application meetings for informational purposes usually in the January time frame.

There is also an opportunity to meet with a regional advisor to review the needs and help slant the grant writing in the best light.

Short answer is, It should be looked at ant the beginning of the year.
