Quail Hill Victory lap_Thank you Meet Volunteers

Topic created by BRycharski on Mon Mar 30, 2015 at 9:29 amAs the Event Director Of Quail Hill makes a victory lap about the Manalapan (Quail Hill) forest, another local event and Scout O training course is complete, thanks in main to Bob Burgs (CS) fine set of Orienteering courses. He partly updated the many large rootstocks in and about the control sites, a large feet as he must have mapped them in semi deep snow pack.
My sincere thanks to the meet crew, many hands made light work of the approx 130 Scouts and other guests, from about 8 BSA units and the large 45 plus HS JROTC cadet group (Linden and Colts Neck O clubs).
The meet crew consisted of Bob Agusta, Kathy Urban, Dave Morgan, Rich E Bright, Ed Hicks, Doug White doing tremendous greeter duty at the Start - All Day!, and many of the above and Diane Reider and Pat and Bob Burton helping with control pick up. Also Troop 46 from Bucks County BSA, John and Larry helping park cars in the early morning. Thanks for your Support. As Star Trek's "Worf" said, it was Glorious!!! -

Reply by bobburg on Wed Apr 1, 2015 at 10:44 amThanks Annie and Pat for mentioning the finish. I too love it when the finish slope gives me an extra boost. Of course it was right after I had all courses climb to the highest point in the camp....so it was the least I could do.
And kudos to Bob R for choosing the pavilion as our staging area. It didn't cost much to use, and it sure beat hanging out under a tarp at picnic tables in the woods like we always have in the past. It also set up the obvious downhill route for Finish. Good call, Bob.
Thanks for everyone's attendance. I definitely want to give extra thanks to the hero of the Quail Hill event, Kathy Urban, who without any relief at the computer, was swamped with a continuous line as she needed to assign sport-idents to virtually everyone who showed up, all the scouts and cadets. We'll definitely streamline that in the future. -

Reply by BRycharski on Thu Apr 2, 2015 at 5:24 pmHi, They are to be posted shortly, A meet results (prior to QH O) and the need to groom the format of - So many, many Happy Quail Hill hike teams and participants are to be overcome, and our result volunteer can Only keyboard Type so fast (remember the days when ED's had to input event results from the pink cards by hand)? Soon.

I'd have run away without them. Also thanks to the Mayfields who found the printer cable while I was acting like the chicken with its head cut off.
