Hey everyone!  On Saturday October the 16 Steve Ohrwaschel, Rick Crompton, Dave Duane and myself were able to run an orienteering event for Chester County Council's Camporee.  We were able to introduce 386 boy scouts to orienteering and had many adult leaders come and ask when and where the next event will be.  To me this was a very good day of spreading the sport and getting people interested in coming to events.  I would like to thank Scott Thatcher for helping me get all the maps and planning a great course out for everybody to run.  It was pretty awesome and I hope that the boys that were able to run the course come back out again.

    From,
    Nathan Ohrwaschel

The camporee was held at Hibernia park.  It sounds like it is worthy.  I'll write something up about the day.  Who do i send it too.

Send it to Nancy Sharp; she is the editor of the Briar Patch.  Her email is in the Briar Patch - you can find it in the archived issues on the website if you don't have one handy.

    Nathan:

I am really proud of the way your organized this event and worked out the details with BSA Chester County Council all on your own. You should start to plan running your own O event in 2011. I'll be there to support you.

Well Done,  Two more Scout orienteerring events by DVOA ... next, that is - are the Oct 30th Washington Crossing SP Scout O- Norht of Trenton, NJ, and the Nov 13th Quail Hill Scout O, Manalapan, NJ.  Maybe we have a reason for some friendly Scout compedition?
