Notes: The Susquehanna Stumble hosted by SVO offering Beginner through Intermedaite regular courses and the Susquehanna stumble with a Short 7 K, and a Long 14 K course.
ED/CS Notes:
The Susquehanna Stumble is a Billygoat-inspired event with a couple of twists. The competitors run between most controls in normal sequential order, but occasionally enter a "window" where there are several controls which can be visited in ANY order.
WHERE: Pine Grove Furnace State Park, Cooke, PA
WHEN: Mass start at 11:00, Sunday, October 28, 2018
WHAT: The Long-Stumble event will be ~14 km in length, with commemorative towel for the first 25 (or more if available) finishers.
The Short-Stumble will be ~7 km with commemorative towels for the first 20 (or more if available) finishers.
The course setter is Mike Bertram; the meet director is Brad Whitmore.
There will also be white, yellow, and orange recreational courses with Jacob Moore as the course setter.
COST: $ 25 for the Long-Stumble, $ 18 for the Short-Stumble, 5 $ for recreational courses.
REGISTRATION: Send E-MAIL to whitmore@stsci.edu AND TELL HIM WHETHER YOU ARE DOING THE SHORT OR LONG COURSE by OCTOBER 25. PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR E-PUNCH NUMBER IN THE EMAIL so we can get these entered ahead of time. You can then pay at the event. Morning-of-event registration is also ok but an additional $ 5 will be added to the fee.
DIRECTIONS: From the WEST and NORTH: Take I-81 south to Rt 233. Follow 233 to the park. Follow O-signs to the top of the mountain (Piney Mountain parking area) .
From the SOUTH: Take Rt 30 west from Gettysburg to Caledonia. Turn right (north) on Rt 233 and follow to the park. Follow O-signs to the top of the mountain (Piney Mountain parking area).
From the EAST find one of several ways on to Bendersville road (e.g., west out of Bendersville itself), and look for the parking lot at the top of the mountain.

- Day-of-registration is available, at $10 for beginners, and $20 for other courses.
All starts are from 10:00am until 1:00pm unless otherwise noted. Follow the text directions and look for Orienteering road signs as you near the park.
