ED/CS Notes:

Plan on a fall orienteering in White Clay Creek State Park!  The woods & fields are beautiful… and quite different from our spring event there. We have a challenging but fun mix of courses for orienteers of all abilities and ages— from beginner courses on well-established Park trails, to longer, more demanding courses of various lengths and difficulties. We hope that you’ll find just the right course for your own enjoyment and have a GREAT run!

Compared with the WCC spring meet, the vegetation is noticeably thicker—both in the woods and in the fields (some of which are only partially mowed.) The forest is generally somewhat “green” with some impassable thickets, but there also are interior areas of delightfully clear running. In low-lying areas the trails still may be pretty soggy, but elsewhere they can take you where you need to go at a good clip!

BRING a FRIEND— If you’re so inclined, do consider carpooling not only for good-company and to conserve gas— but also because WCC has a per-vehicle “use fee” of $3 for DE licensed vehicles, $6 for others (pay at the gate).

HELP WANTED—We’ve carefully divided up shifts so no one gets stuck with to much work and no play… BUT we still need volunteers!  S0 sign up soon and get your pick of plum time-slots… and our THANKS for helping out!

Hope to see you there!   --Bev & Fred  (CS & ED)
