Notes: Mid Atlantic Championships

ED/CS Notes:
Congratulations to QOC for obtaining 144 points at the Governor Dick's Mid Atlantic Champs event.  DVOA had 104 points...  Many thanks to Mark Cornish for his hard work on getting the courses perfect!  We were fortunate to have great weather too.  Thanks for all the epunch support from Fred/Bailey Reed and Sandy Fillebrown.

MidAtlantic Scoring 2011:
Top 3 male and females on each course will be scored as follows: 
5 pts 1st, 3 pts, 2nd, 1 pt 3rd. 

*2.5 hour time limit for each course.  Participants do not have to run their age category however we strongly suggest if you run an advanced (Br, Bl, Gr, R) course, you do not run yellow or white...  let the kids have their day.  Only the first course per particpant will count towards the scoring.
 
Relay 
There will be 3 legs to each team.  You are not allowed to run more than one leg.  We will have a 3 point team category, a 6 point team category and  a 9 point team category.
Team values:  M19 - M45 are 1 pt; M50+ are 2 pts; F19+ are 3 pts; M/F8 - M/F18 are 4 pts.  Shadowing youth will be allowed.
Point Value for placements:  1st 20 pts, 2nd 15 pts; 3rd 10 pts, 4th 5 pts, 5th 3 pts, 6th 1 pt for each category.  Note - everyone is worth something!:)
 
Relay start time will be no later than 1 pm.  Clocks have changed and we need to clean up. 
Controls will begin to be picked up by 3 pm. 
Clubs participating: Mid Atlantic Clubs (WPOC, DVOA, QOC & SVO)
 
Fee for participants.  $6 member/ $9 non-member with $1 epunch rental.  For your 2nd map of the day $2 fee. 
 
Course lengths and course notes should be posted by Wednesday.
Persons that are not members of any of these clubs still are welcome to come orienteer for the day.  It's all for fun.
